A Brief History

Dear friends, family and world community,

Thank you for taking the time to visit our foundation's page. This page is dedicated to celebrating the memory of our father Joel Alvarez. "The Joel Alvarez Foundation, Education for All", was founded in August 2019 after he passed away in an accident. Our father was a steward of service. He loved to help those in need, especially children. We wanted to continue his legacy, by continuing to serve the community in his memory. We started our mission a few months after his passing by collecting and donating school supplies to the school our father attended as a child in Ranchadero, Guayubin located in the province of Montecristi in the Dominican Republic. Despite the catastrophic event of the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020, we were blessed and able to continue collecting supplies and donating to the same school in addition to two new schools that were added to the roster. Our goal is to grow and continue making hand to hand donations to these children in need in these forgotten underserved rural regions of the Dominican Republic. Thank you to those who started with us in this celebratory mission. Thank you to those who continue to support our mission in any way possible. Children are the future. They need our love and support in any way possible. A pencil that costs 25 cents may be insignificant to many yet it can be a power tool that can help a child start their journey to rise from poverty.
